Bill Pay Notebook

Happy New Year!  I love a new year ... a time to recharge, rethink and improve.
A dear family member reached out to me to help her get organized in the new year and after chatting with her and emailing some documents that I use, I thought I would make these documents available to everyone.

First, my BILL PAY NOTEBOOK ...

Download and print the bill calendar document by clicking here.  Write all your bills on the day they are due and when they are paid mark through them and write paid.

Assemble all the documents and tabs in a 3-ring binder.  You can get divider tabs that say Jan-Dec at any office supply store.  Throughout the year, three whole punch bills, receipts, etc. and place behind the corresponding month.  Download the Checkbook Register by clicking here.  The "dot" on the register is the equivalent of the check-mark indicating the item has cleared.    Download my cover sheet by clicking here.

The Calendar: The columns at the bottom have proven to be extremely helpful over the year.

WHAT WE DIDN'T EXPECT THIS MONTH: One year I forgot to budget $150 for the children's' yearbooks in December.  I made a note of it and the next year it didn't sneak up on me.  I would recommend you keep these sheets for a least a year and revisit them each month.

EXPENSES UNIQUE TO THIS MONTH:  Use this column for month specific expenses.  For example, your child's birthday party, tag/tax expenses on your or your spouse's birthday, etc.

TAX DEDUCTIBLE EXPENSES THIS MONTH:  This is very helpful come tax time.  I don't have to try to remember everything from the entire year.

Happy Organizing!
